NOVELTY - Mercury ion detection involves adding oligonucleotides fluorescence probe marked with a dye in buffer solution. The fluorescence probe emits radiation of wavelength 480 nm. Graphene oxide i.e. a solid phase carrier is added to a solution. The solid phase carrier absorbs the oligonucleotides probe to generate oligonucleotides-graphene oxide compound. The mercury ion containing material reacts with oligonucleotides-graphene oxide compound to form a ring by connecting thymine-mercury ion. USE - Method for detecting mercury ion by using oligonucleotides and graphene oxide (claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Mercury ion detection involves adding oligonucleotides fluorescence probe marked with a dye in buffer solution. The fluorescence signal of dye is monitored in order to carry out qualitative and quantitative detection of mercury ion.
