NOVELTY - Preparation of platinum/three-dimensional graphene composite catalyst involves dispersing graphene oxide in ethylene glycol aqueous solution, stirring uniformly for 30 minutes, adding amphoteric surfactant, stirring for 60 minutes, adjusting pH of the resultant solution to 10.5-11.5, mixing uniformly for 2 hours, adding hexachloroplatinic acid, stirring uniformly, transferring the resultant solution into a stainless steel hydrothermal reactor, reacting at 140-180 degrees C for 5-9 hours, washing the resultant reaction mixture, and drying under vacuum. USE - Preparation of platinum/three-dimensional graphene composite catalyst used as direct methanol fuel cell anode catalyst (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method provides platinum/three-dimensional graphene composite catalyst having small average particle diameter, and high catalytic activity and stability with respect to methanol oxidation.
