NOVELTY - An anode particulates comprise cores and thin encapsulating layer which covers cores. The cores comprise anode active material (a) having volume (Va) dispersed or embedded in a porous carbon matrix or carbon foam. The porous carbon matrix or carbon foam contains pores having a pore volume (Vp). The thin encapsulating layer comprises graphene sheets and having thickness of 1 nm to 10 mu m, an electric conductivity of 10-6-20000 S/cm and a lithium ion conductivity of 10-8-5x 10-2 S/cm and the volume ratio (Vp/Va) of 0.3/1.0-5.0/1.0. The porous carbon matrix or carbon foam electronically and/or ionically connects the encapsulating layer to the anode active material (a). USE - Anode particulates used for lithium battery such as lithium-ion battery, lithium metal secondary battery, lithium-sulfur battery, lithium-air battery, or lithium-selenium battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The anode particulates provides improved performance and cycle stability of lithium-ion battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) battery; and (2) impact-transfer method of producing anode particulates using particles of a graphitic material and polymer-coated anode active material particles.
