NOVELTY - The particle has a diameter between 10 to 2000 nanometers and consists of a shell (C) and magnetic cores. The magnetic core consist of a ferromagnetic, ferrimagnetic or superparamagnetic material (A) that are coated with graphene layers (B) and the shell consists of an oxidic glass composition, e.g. a silicate glass composition. USE - Particle, e.g. nanoparticle for chemical and biochemical separation processes and nucleic acid purification process. ADVANTAGE - Provides magnetic nanoparticles with improved chemical stability since the magnetic core consist of a ferromagnetic, ferrimagnetic or superparamagnetic material that are coated with graphene layers and the shell consists of an oxidic glass composition, e.g. a silicate glass composition. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for the following: (1) a composite containing a polymer material; (2) a method for manufacturing particles; and (3) a process for separating or isolating biological material.
