NOVELTY - The evaporator or generator (1) has elongate tubular housing (10) made of transparent material, and solar transparent heat exchangers (20, 30, 40) provided along a length of housing. Each exchanger includes flow channel with water inlets (22, 32, 42) and steam outlets (23, 33, 43) and a graphene foam structure (34) to be provided between the inlets and outlets. A concave mirror (11) is provided on an inner side wall of housing to focus sunlight on the exchangers that heat water i.e. sea water, passing over the foam structure to convert the water into vapor to drive a steam turbine. USE - Solar evaporator or steam generator. ADVANTAGE - The concave mirror is arranged on the inner side wall of the housing to focus sunlight on the heat exchangers that heat water i.e. sea water, passing over the foam structure to convert the water into vapor, thus allowing formation of salt to be removed in a heat exchanger in a simple and effective manner.
