NOVELTY - Preparing highly hydrophobic modified graphene oxide material comprises e.g. (i) mixing graphene oxide with acyl chlorination reagent in presence of catalyst, sonicating and placing in a spherical condensate reflux tube equipped with the reaction device, vacuum filtering reaction mixture, washing and drying to obtain acyl chloride oxidized graphene, and (ii) transferring acylated chlorinated graphene into organic solution of p-toluidine and vacuum filtering suspension, washing and drying to obtain final product. USE - The method is useful for preparing highly hydrophobic modified graphene oxide material (claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing highly hydrophobic modified graphene oxide material comprises (i) mixing graphene oxide with acyl chlorination reagent in presence of catalyst, sonicating and placing in a spherical condensate reflux tube equipped with the reaction device, vacuum filtering reaction mixture at certain temperature for a period of time, washing and drying to obtain acyl chloride oxidized graphene, and (ii) transferring acylated chlorinated graphene into organic solution of p-toluidine at a given concentration, refluxing and heating at certain temperature and period of time, and vacuum filtering suspension, washing and drying to obtain final product.
