NOVELTY - A negative electrode material comprises core comprising a porous carbon material, a silicon-metal-containing compound loaded in pores of the porous carbon material, and a conductive carbon layer on the surface of the core. The metal in the compound is one or more of boron, nitrogen, oxygen and aluminum. USE - Material used in negative electrode of electrochemical device for electronic device (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The negative electrode material has high conductivity and gram capacity, and provides electrochemical device having long cycle and low expansion effect. The method is simple and easy, and realizes low cost industrialization. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A negative electrode material comprises core comprising a porous carbon material, a silicon-metal-containing compound (Si-M-C, where M is one or more of boron, nitrogen, oxygen and aluminum) loaded in pores of the porous carbon material, and a conductive carbon layer on the surface of the core. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) preparation of the negative electrode material, which involves using a silicon source, an organic solvent, and the porous carbon material; and (2) negative electrode, which comprises the negative electrode material. The peel strength between the negative electrode material layer and the current collector is more than 10 N/m.
