NOVELTY - Flow field plate (18) comprises an electrically conductive substrate at least partially defining several flow channels, and a carbon layer arranged over the flow field plate. The carbon layer comprises a component including graphene and/or carbon nanotubes. The carbon layer has a thickness of less than 10 nm. USE - The flow field plate is useful for a fuel cell (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The flow field plate has reduced contact resistance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for producing flow field plate, comprising contacting electrically conductive substrate with a vapor of 1-18C hydrocarbonaceous compound at 350-600 degrees C to form a carbon layer, where the carbon layer comprises at least one graphene monolayer.
