NOVELTY - Method for preparing alpha -goethite/graphene oxide composite material, involves (a) adding 5-15 pts. wt. single-layer graphene oxide to a beaker, add 90-100 pts. wt. ultrapure water, uniformly stirring, and ultrasonically processing for 40-50 minutes, (b) adding 22-28 pts. wt. ferrous sulfate heptahydrate powder to the graphene dispersion system solution, adding 40-50 pts. wt. ethylene glycol to the beaker, stirring using a glass rod, and ultrasonically processing for 40-50 minutes, (c) adding the mixed solution to a round-bottom flask, heating in a water bath at 65-75 degrees C, refluxing for 5-7 hours to obtain a black powder, cooling, washing the powder 4-6 times with absolute ethanol, and (d) rinsing with ultrapure water for 4-6 times, leaving still for 5-6 hours, using a pipette to remove the supernatant, placing the sample in a constant temperature oven at 65-75 degrees C, drying, and grinding. USE - The method is useful for preparing alpha -goethite/graphene oxide composite material used for removing tetracycline in wastewater. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, fast, and easy to operate. The prepared composite material has uniform morphology distribution, large specific surface area, and significant photocatalytic effect.
