NOVELTY - A catalyst distributed on substrate is provided in chemical vapor deposition chamber. Then, hydrocarbon gas and gas comprising oxygen are supplied to the chamber, the hydrocarbon gas and the gas comprising oxygen are simultaneously contacted with the catalyst, the hydrocarbon and/or the substrate are heated to a temperature sufficient for carbon nanotube synthesis, and formation of graphene layer is controlled on the catalyst, and catalyst deactivation is varied by contacting oxygen with the catalyst, to form carbon nanotube. USE - Synthesis of carbon nanotube used for battery and capacitor. ADVANTAGE - The carbon nanotube is manufactured with excellent mechanical property, electrical property, field emission characteristics and chemical stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method for preventing formation of graphene layer.
