NOVELTY - The composite tool component (800) comprises diamond particles, and graphene particles (806) that are located within the diamond particles. A conforming catalyst metal coats the diamond particles and the graphene particles with a consistent thickness about the diamond particles and the graphene particles. The catalyst metal includes cobalt or a group VIII element. The diamond particles include polycrystalline diamond particles. The diamond particles include diamond particles of grain size of 0.05-3.00 micrometers. USE - Composite tool component for polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) used in drill head (all claimed) for drilling through rock formations for exploration of oil and gas. ADVANTAGE - The composite tool component has improved toughness, thermal conductivity and other properties, and forms improved polycrystalline diamond containing composite tool components. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for the following: (1) a polycrystalline diamond compact; (2) a drill head; and (3) a method of forming a composite tool.
