NOVELTY - Preparing graphite electrode comprises (i) measuring raw materials, (i) pulverizing and screening petroleum coke, needle coke, graphene and carbon fiber, (iii) placing calcium oxide, iron trioxide and copper powder into ball mill for grinding, and sieving particles after grinding to obtain mixture I, (iv) thoroughly mixing pulverized petroleum coke, needle coke, modified pitch, graphene, and carbon fiber to obtain mixture II, and adding mixture I and mixture II to kneading pot for mixing treatment, (v) adding modified asphalt to kneading pot, preheating modified asphalt to 160-180 degrees C, adding fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether and polymethyl methacrylate in sequence to kneading pot, and wet-mixing for 20-30 minutes to obtain mixture, and (vi) adding prepared mixture to mold, and performing extrusion and shaping treatment on mold. USE - The method is useful in preparing graphite electrode for reducing loss (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphite electrode has improved oxidation resistance, improved anti-breaking rate, increased ion adsorption step, improved conductivity, stable current conduction rate, and improved strength.
