NOVELTY - A cover (100) comprises metal cover substrate (110) having at least a top surface and a bottom surface; transparent passivation layer (120) on top surface of metal cover substrate; water-borne graphene coating layer (130) on transparent passivation layer; and electrophoretic deposition coating layer (140) on water-borne graphene coating layer. USE - A cover for electronic device selected from laptop, tablet computer, smartphone, electronic-reader, or music player (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cover is durable, strong, and lightweight and has decorative appearance and corrosion resistance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) electronic device comprising electronic component and a cover at least partially enclosing the electronic component; and (2) manufacture of cover which involves forming transparent passivation layer on top surface and bottom surface of metal cover substrate, applying water-borne graphene coating layer on the transparent passivation layer on the top surface of the metal cover substrate, depositing electrophoretic deposition coating layer on the water-borne graphene coating layer, and depositing electrophoretic deposition coating layer on the transparent passivation layer on the bottom surface of the metal cover substrate.
