NOVELTY - Graphene is produced by performing laminar separation of pregraphitic material at less than or equal to 1500 degrees C, preferably less than or equal to 1000 degrees C. USE - Method of producing graphene for catalysts, imaging devices, microelectronics, and energy storage (claimed). ADVANTAGE - Graphite can be easily produced at low cost. Graphite has various uses. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) method for producing pregraphitic material oxide, graphene oxide, and graphene; (2) pregraphitic material oxide, graphene oxide, or graphene; and (3) use of graphene in catalysts, imaging devices, microelectronics, and energy storage.
