▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Apparatus (10) comprises reaction chamber (12) operably coupled with a source of a carbon-containing material and oxidizer source, vacuum source operably connected with the chamber and operable to selectively evacuate at least a portion of the contents of the chamber, and ignition assembly (22) configured to initiate combustion of quantity of the carbon-containing material and quantity of the oxidizer delivered to the reaction chamber from their respective sources, the ignition assembly comprising a pair of electrodes that are operable to generate ionizing arc, each electrode being contained within respective cassette that is removably received within ignition assembly. The apparatus is operably coupled with source of flushing gas. The flushing gas comprises air. The oxidizer comprises oxygen. The carbon-containing material comprises at least one hydrocarbon compound. The electrodes comprise non-porous material i.e. glass or glazed ceramic. USE - The apparatus is useful for producing particulate materials (claimed) i.e. graphene particulates. ADVANTAGE - The apparatus: is capable of producing particulate materials, i.e. graphene particulates on large scale; utilizes ignition assembly that is capable of self clean; requires low energy inputs to generate the particulate materials. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) electrical ignition assembly operable to initiate a combustion reaction within a reaction chamber; and (2) producing graphene particulates comprising introducing a mixture comprising a carbon-containing material into a reaction chamber and an oxidizer, the carbon-containing material and oxidizer being introduced into the reaction chamber through ignition assembly comprising a pair of electrodes, generating an ionizing arc between the pair of electrodes within the ignition assembly, thus combusting the carbon-containing material and oxidizer and generating a temperature within the reaction chamber of at least 3000 K to produce an aerosol comprising graphene particulates, evacuating the aerosol from the reaction chamber using a vacuum source that is operably connected to the reaction chamber, and recovering the graphene particulates from the aerosol evacuated from the reaction chamber as a graphene powder.
