NOVELTY - A thermoplastic-processable polyvinyl alcohol/graphene hydrophobic composite material comprises graphene and polyvinyl alcohol in weight ratio of 0.1:100-20:100, preferably 0.3:100-10:100. The polyvinyl alcohol has degree of alcoholysis of 68-80%. USE - Thermoplastic-processable polyvinyl alcohol/graphene hydrophobic composite material is used for waterproof barrier material e.g. waterproof barrier film product, pipe and hollow container (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The thermoplastic-processable polyvinyl alcohol/graphene hydrophobic composite material is prepared by simple method, with low equipment requirement. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of thermoplastic-processable polyvinyl alcohol/graphene hydrophobic composite material, which involves mixing graphene or graphene solution and polyvinyl alcohol solution, maintaining the mixture still, spray-drying mixture to obtain polyvinyl alcohol/graphene hydrophobic composite particles and subjecting polyvinyl alcohol/graphene hydrophobic composite particles to thermoplastic processing.
