NOVELTY - Preparing graphene-coated plasma-modified mesocarbon microbeads involves using plasma to enrich surface with functional group, and using graphene oxide. The modified mesophase carbon microspheres are compounded in a mass ratio of 5:1 to 1:100, and graphene/mesophase carbon microsphere composite material is obtained by thermal reduction. USE - Method for preparing graphene-coated plasma-modified mesocarbon microbeads for lithium ion battery. ADVANTAGE - The method for preparing graphene-coated plasma-modified mesocarbon microbeads in simple manner which does not generate imputities, is good for further commercial application of mesocarbon microbeads. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a lithium ion battery, comprises negative electrode, counter electrode, separator, and electrolyte, where negative electrode is made of N-methylpyrrolidone, graphene/mesophase carbon microsphere composite, conductive carbon black and polyvinylidene fluoride are described.
