NOVELTY - Cathode comprises a cathode current collector, a cathode active material layer (4) and a lithium replenishing layer (3). At least one of the surface current collector is divided into A1 area and A2 area. The A1 area is covered with a lithium supplementing layer. The A2 area is covered with a cathode active material layer. USE - Used as cathode. ADVANTAGE - The cathode: has no problem of premature reaction leading to overheating and excessive consumption of lithium source; ensures safety; can continuously provide an specific amount of lithium source for a long period of time; improves battery cycle life; does not need to provide a lithium-replenishing material on the cathode active material layer and affect the ion transport channel between the cathode and the electrolyte.
