NOVELTY - A secondary battery (1) consists of a cathode(s) (100) having a cathode active material layer (120), several anodes having an anode (200) comprising a silicon-based active material and an anode (300) comprising a carbon-based active material, a separator (400), and an electrolyte. The cathodes and the anodes are alternately stacked and the separator is provided between the cathodes and the anodes. The weight ratio of the silicon-based active material contained in the anode (200) with respect to the carbon-based active material contained in the anode (300) is 40:60-90:10. USE - Secondary battery e.g. lithium secondary battery is used as power source. Uses include but are not limited to mobile phone, notebook computer, digital camera, electric vehicle, and hybrid electric vehicle. ADVANTAGE - The secondary battery has excellent durability and charge/discharge cycle characteristics, and high capacity.
