NOVELTY - An organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) membrane and/or an organic solvent reverse osmosis (OSRO) membrane comprises a composite mixed matrix material that comprises a solvent-resistant polymeric matrix with functional groups suitable for crosslinking, and an inorganic material homogeneously dispersed throughout the polymeric matrix, where the mixed matrix material has a region (R1) comprising a surface of the membrane and a region (R2), where the region (R1) of the mixed matrix material further comprises a crosslinking agent that crosslinks the polymeric matrix in the region (R1) through the functional groups suitable for crosslinking, and the region (R1) has a mean effective pore size of 0.2-2 nm. USE - Organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) membrane and/or an organic solvent reverse osmosis (OSRO) membrane for nanofiltration of solvent such as polar protic solvent, polar aprotic solvent, and non-polar organic solvent (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The organic solvent nanofiltration membrane and/or organic solvent reverse osmosis membrane has excellent resistance and flux. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) filtration using the organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) membrane; and (2) formation of organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) membrane and/or an organic solvent reverse osmosis (OSRO) membrane.
