NOVELTY - Preparing a zirconium-modified magnetic chitosan graphene oxide involves: (1) dissolving chitosan in an acetic acid solution, adding ferroferric oxide, and ultrasonically stirring to prepare a chitosan-ferroferric oxide solution, recorded as a mixed solution (I); (2) dissolving graphene oxide in deionized water and ultrasonically stirring to obtain a graphene oxide solution; (3) adding graphene oxide solution to the mixed solution (I), placing the mixture in a water bath at room temperature and stirring to obtain a mixture of chitosan-ferroferric oxide-graphene oxide solution, recorded as a mixed solution (II); and (4) adding formaldehyde to the mixed solution (II), stirring, then dripping a sodium hydroxide solution under high-speed stirring to adjust the pH value of the resulting mixture to 9, adding glutaraldehyde, reacting to get flocculant precipitates, cooling, washing, drying and grinding to obtain magnetic chitosan graphene oxide. USE - The method is useful for preparing a zirconium-modified magnetic chitosan graphene oxide, which is useful for treating acidic wastewater, anionic printing and wastewater containing alizarin red, and dyeing wastewater (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method does not cause secondary pollution to the environment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing a zirconium-modified magnetic chitosan graphene oxide involves: (1) dissolving chitosan in an acetic acid solution, adding ferroferric oxide, and ultrasonically stirring for 1 hour until the mixture is completely dissolved to prepare a chitosan-ferroferric oxide solution in a mass ratio of 1:1, recorded as a mixed solution (I); (2) dissolving graphene oxide in deionized water and ultrasonically stirring for 1 hour to obtain a 1 mg/ml graphene oxide solution; (3) adding 1 mg/ml graphene oxide solution to the mixed solution (I), placing the mixture in a water bath at room temperature and stirring for 1 hour using a mechanical stirrer to obtain a mixture of chitosan-ferroferric oxide-graphene oxide solution, recorded as a mixed solution (II), where the mass ratio of chitosan, ferroferric oxide and graphene oxide in the mixed solution (II) is 4:4:1; (4) adding formaldehyde to the mixed solution (II), stirring at 60 degrees C for 1 hour, then dripping a sodium hydroxide solution under high-speed stirring to adjust the pH value of the resulting mixture to 9, adding 25 %mass glutaraldehyde, reacting for 3 hours under the condition that the pH value is 9 and the temperature is 60 degrees C, taking out to get flocculant precipitates, cooling the flocculant precipitate to room temperature, alternately washing the precipitate with ethanol and water until neutral, drying at 60 degrees C, and grinding to obtain magnetic chitosan graphene oxide; and (5) mixing the magnetic chitosan graphene oxide with a solution of zirconium oxychloride octahydrate, carrying out oscillation reaction at 30 degrees C for 6 hours, after the reaction is completed, alternately washing the reaction product with distilled water and ethanol to neutral, drying at 60 degrees C and grinding, where the mass ratio of the magnetic chitosan graphene oxide to the zirconium oxychloride octahydrate is 1:1.
