NOVELTY - Silicon-carbon composite material with pomegranate-like structure, comprises silicon nanoparticles, flake graphite, carbon nanotubes and carbon coating layer, where the carbon nanotubes and the flake graphite are used to construct a three-dimensional multidirectional ion migration channel conductive network structure, and the silicon nanoparticles are dispersed and attached to the three-dimensional network structure formed by the carbon nanotubes and the flake graphite, the carbon coating layer covers the silicon nanoparticles. The composite material further comprises spheroidized graphite flakes and carbon matrix, where the flake graphite is used to construct, contain, and separate the silicon nanoparticles, the carbon coating layer also covers the flake graphite, and the carbon matrix is a fluid liquid after the carbon source is melted, which is absorbed and filled in the gaps formed by the flake graphite, the silicon nanoparticles, and the nanotubes. USE - The composite material is useful in an electrode (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite material has higher electrical conductivity, higher material tap density and lower volume expansion rate. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing the pomegranate-like structure silicon-carbon composite material, involving adding silicon nano-particles and flake graphite into a spheronization device, performing spheronization treatment on the flake graphite to obtain a first mixture, adding carbon source and flake graphite to the first mixture, placing in a fusion machine for mixing and stirring to obtain a second mixture, placing the second mixture in a reactor for heat treatment so that the carbon source in the mixture is melted, softened and carbonized for coating, cooling, crushing and sieving to obtain the product.
