NOVELTY - Preparing iron-nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dot comprises hydrothermally reacting heme in aqueous ammonia medium to prepare iron-nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dot. USE - The graphene quantum dot is useful for colorimetric sensing process (actual sample analysis of L-Cys) for selectively detecting L-Cys. ADVANTAGE - The method: is economical, and environmentally friendly; and has high yield. The graphene quantum dot: has pseudoperoxidase properties.
