NOVELTY - Preparing desulfurization catalyst with high silicon to aluminum ratio comprises (i) adding MCM-22 molecular sieve into a pressure vessel containing organic alkali solution, and sealing the system, raising the pressure to 0.6-1 MPa, then heating at 90-100 degrees C, treating at a constant temperature for 10-12 hours, taking out, washing and drying, calcining at 450-550 degrees C for 8-12 hours to obtain organic base modified MCM-22 molecular sieve, (ii) mixing the organic base modified MCM-22 molecular sieve prepared in step (i) with ammonium acetate solution, treating in a 60-70 degrees C water bath for 2-4 hours, washing, drying, and calcining at 550-650 degrees C for 3-6 hours to obtain catalyst intermediate, (iii) mixing the catalyst intermediate obtained in step (ii) with alumina powder and graphene powder uniformly, and then adding extrusion additive and binder, rolling, and calcining at 600-700 degrees C for 8-10 hours to obtain final product. USE - The desulfurization catalyst is useful in removal of thiophene sulfides in vehicle gasoline and diesel. ADVANTAGE - The desulfurization catalyst has desulfurization rate with organic base modified MCM 22 molecular sieve of greater than or equal to 90%. The method: utilizes cheap and easily available raw materials; has simple and convenient process, and low cost; and is suitable for industrial production.
