NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene-silicon nitride hybrid aerogel involves (i) mixing silicon nitride whisker, dopamine hydrochloride and polyethyleneimine in a tris-hydrochloride buffer solution for amination modification reaction to obtain aminated silicon nitride whiskers, (ii) mixing the aminated silicon nitride whisker, graphene oxide, a reducing agent and water to perform a hydrothermal reduction reaction to obtain graphene-silicon nitride hybrid hydrogel, and (iii) freeze drying the obtained hydrogel. USE - Preparation of graphene-silicon nitride hybrid aerogel used for forming epoxy resin-based composite material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method produces aerogel having excellent lubricating property, synergistic effect, and produces epoxy resin-based composite material having excellent tribology performance, anti-friction and wear-resistant properties. The silicon nitride whisker is anchored in the graphene aerogel, suppresses the silicon nitride whisker agglomeration in the epoxy resin, and further improves the three-dimensional heat conduction network in the epoxy resin. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) graphene-silicon nitride hybrid aerogel, which comprises gel porous network structure constructed by graphene nanosheets and silicon nitride whisker anchored in the three-dimensional porous network structure. The surface of silicon nitride whiskers is coated with polydopamine-polyethyleneimine copolymer; (2)epoxy resin-based composite material, which comprises the graphene-silicon nitride hybrid aerogel and an epoxy resin cured product filled in the aerogel; and (3)manufacture of epoxy resin-based composite material, which involves mixing epoxy resin and a curing agent for pre-curing to obtain pre-cured liquid and immersing the graphene-silicon nitride hybrid aerogel into the pre-cured liquid for vacuum impregnation, and curing the impregnated graphene-silicon nitride hybrid aerogel.
