NOVELTY - Producing phosphorus-activated platinum-based catalyst comprises (a) adding first solvent, deionized water, surfactant and platinum salt solution to carbon carrier, and stirring evenly at normal temperature to obtain a base mixed solution, rapidly adding reducing agent to the base mixture, and stirring at room temperature for 0.5-24 hours to obtain solid product of platinum-based catalyst; and (b) adding the platinum-based catalyst and phosphorus source to a second solvent, refluxing at 30-180 degrees C for 5-12 hours under the protection of atmosphere to obtain phosphorus-activated platinum-based catalyst solid product. USE - The phosphorus-activated platinum-based catalyst is useful in electrocatalytic oxygen reduction (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and economical, produces phosphorus-activated platinum-based catalyst with high catalytic activity; and achieves the purpose of regulating the electronic structure state of the surface of the platinum nanoparticle through the high adsorption energy of the phosphorus element and the platinum element, and the phosphorus element and the platinum element rapidly form a platinum-phosphorus bond. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for phosphorus-activated platinum-based catalyst produced by the above method.
