NOVELTY - Method for preparing epsilon-caprolactone and 6-hydroxycaproic acid and its esters using tetrahydrofuran acetic acid and its esters comprises placing tetrahydrofuran acetic acid and its ester compounds under pressure of 0.1-10 MPa in reducing atmosphere, under the action of a catalyst in solvent, carrying out reduction reaction at 20-200 degrees C for 0.5-48 hours, separating the catalyst and distilling solvent off. USE - The method is useful for preparing epsilon-caprolactone and 6-hydroxycaproic acid and its esters using tetrahydrofuran acetic acid and its esters. ADVANTAGE - The method is performed mild conditions; realizes the efficient conversion of bio-based tetrahydrofuran acetic acid and its esters; and is relyed on fossil resources.
