NOVELTY - Material comprises polyetherimide (PEI), graphene and nano silver particles, where PEI is uniformly coupled to the surface of the graphene, and the nano silver particles are loaded on the surface of the functionalized graphene. USE - The material is useful for providing antibacterial effect (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The material contains silver nano particles which are uniform in size and shape, which effectively prevents the agglomeration of silver particles and graphene. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation method of the material, which involves (a) adding graphite oxide to distilled water, ultrasonically dispersing to form a suspension, where the concentration of the suspension is 0.1-5 mg/ml and the ultrasonic dispersion time is 10-60 minutes, (b) adding PEI to the suspension, ultrasonically reacting for 10-30 minutes, adding 10 mg/ml ethyl dimethyl amino propyl carbodiimide, ultrasonically reacting, again adding ethyl dimethyl amino propyl carbodiimide in an increased amount, stirring, reacting, centrifuging and collecting the supernatant i.e. PEI-modified graphene oxide, and (c) adding PEI-modified graphene oxide to water, ultrasonically dissolving, adding silver nitrate, stirring to dissolve, heating to boil, adding a reducing agent, continuously stirring and reacting to obtain the product.
