NOVELTY - Preparing nitrogen-doped graphene aerogel involves mixing the soft template solvent, graphene oxide suspension, and emulsifier to form a graphene oxide emulsion. The soft template solvent is selected from one or more of cyclohexane, n-hexane, n-butanol, dichloromethane, and tetrahydrofuran, added an auxiliary reducing agent to the graphene oxide emulsion, and then performed a hydrothermal reduction reaction to obtain a graphene hydrogel. The auxiliary reducing agent contains ethylenediamine and/or ammonia. The graphene is hydrated and freeze-dried to obtain a graphene aerogel. The graphene aerogel is calcined under an inert atmosphere. USE - Method for preparing nitrogen-doped graphene aerogel used as cathode material in lithium-sulfur battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The nitrogen-doped graphene aerogel has a better pore structure, and is effectively improve battery performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for following: (1) A lithium-sulfur battery cathode material, which comprises a graphene aerogel and elemental sulfur loaded on the graphene aerogel, which is the nitrogen-doped graphene aerogel. (2) A method for preparing lithium-sulfur battery cathode material, which involves immersing graphene aerogel in the solution containing the elemental sulfur and dried.
