NOVELTY - Production of porous metal foam (110) involves mixing a metallic powder with sacrificial particles in a specified ratio to form a mixture, and applying sufficient pressure in order to compact the mixture, decompose or dissolve the sacrificial particles, and fuse the metallic powder into the porous metal foam. USE - Production of porous metal foam used for production of graphene nanofoam used in heat transfer element and battery (all claimed) for electric drive automobiles. Can also be used in filter material for water filter, bendable LCD screen for electronics and nanoelectronics, and lightweight material panel for aircraft. ADVANTAGE - The method provides metal foam having excellent electrical insulation, high thermal conductivity, elasticity, and improved mechanical and shielding property.
