NOVELTY - Coating agent comprises amphiphilic carbon material, pH regulator and water, where mass percentage of amphiphilic carbon material in coating agent is 20-70% and pH is above 12. USE - The coating agent is useful for coating and modifying graphite to form a coating layer with uniform thickness and good compactness. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) preparing coating agent comprising dissolving amphiphilic carbon material in water, adding pH adjuster to adjust the pH to 12 or higher (or) dissolving pH adjusting agent in water to obtain alkaline solution with pH of 12 or higher and dissolving amphiphilic carbon material in alkaline solution; (2) preparing fast-charging graphite comprising (a) mixing the coating agent with graphite aggregate to obtain slurry and (b) drying and solidifying the slurry to obtain a precursor and (c) carbonizing the precursor to obtain the fast-charging graphite; (3) fast-charging graphite is prepared by the above mentioned method; (4) electrode comprising fast-charging graphite, where the electrode is preferably cathode; and (5) battery comprising electrode, where the battery is preferably lithium ion battery or solid state battery.
