NOVELTY - Method for preparing recyclable graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4)/reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/cotton composite photocatalyst involves i. protonation of g-C3N4yields a positively charged g-C3N4; ii. mixing the self-made graphene oxide (GO) with deionized water in a certain proportion, and after ultrasonic dispersion, a uniform and stable GO dispersion is prepared; iii. dispersing protonated g-C3N4in deionized water and sonicating for 30 minutes, then adding 10 ml of GO dispersion and stir to obtain g-C3N4/GO suspension; iv. repeating the dipping-baking operation with the prepared g-C3N4/GO suspension and cotton fabric for several times until the g-C3N4/GO is completely treated on the cotton fabric; reducing the g-C3N4/GO/cotton fabric is in situ. USE - Graphitic carbon nitride/reduced graphene oxide/cotton composite photocatalyst for use in photocatalytic degradation of reactive red 3BS and methylene blue dyes (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphitic carbon nitride/reduced graphene oxide/cotton composite photocatalyst has good stability in liquid phase reaction, achieve the best photocatalytic activity while maintaining excellent adsorption performance, and has remarkable photocatalytic effect. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a graphitic carbon nitride/reduced graphene oxide/cotton composite photocatalyst.
