NOVELTY - An electrochemical biosensor comprises one or more particulate carbonaceous compounds as conductors, one or more particulate metal species as a surface modifier, one or more electrochemical modifiers which is sensitive to chemical species of interest, one or more non-conducting thermoplastic material as the basis of the three-dimensional printing and a complementary DNA strand (S1) belonging to the virus causes COVID-19 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2). The particulate carbonaceous compounds contains graphite, diamond, carbon black, carbon nanotubes, fullerenes or graphene. The particulate metallic species contains any metal excluding mercury. The electrochemical modifiers contains inorganic complexes e.g. porphyrins, phthalocyanines and others, carbonaceous materials e.g. graphite, carbon nanotubes, biochar, graphene and others, biological materials e.g. enzymes, antigens, antibodies, aptamers, DNA fragments, fabrics, cells, and others. USE - Electrochemical biosensor used for detecting and monitoring severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 causing COVID-19, based on its genetic material (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The electrochemical biosensor is inexpensive, simply assembled, allows quick analyses, manufactured from three-dimensional printing, speed in relation to the application of the same for hospital triages, and has simplicity, and practicality.
