NOVELTY - A transition metal nitrogen-doped carbon-based catalyst comprises transition metal salt, water-soluble polymer material, alkali, and reaction product of carbon source and nitrogen source. USE - Transition metal nitrogen-doped carbon-based catalyst used for fuel cell for in electrochemical redox reaction (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst has excellent activity and durability, and higher positive half-wave potential and dynamic current density (Jk) than industrial platinum/carbon catalyst. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of transition metal nitrogen-doped carbon-based catalyst, involves (S1) providing transition metal salt solution, where transition metal salt solution comprises transition metal salt, water-soluble polymer material, alcohol and water, (S2) providing alkaline solution after pulverization, (S3) mixing atomized alkali solution with transition metal salt solution to obtain gel, (S4) mixing gel with nitrogen source, carbon source, alcohol and water, and drying solid formed there to obtain catalyst precursor, (S5) orderly performing annealing (A1), acid treating, and annealing (A2) to catalyst precursor.
