▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Preparing sulfur-functionalized graphene, comprises: (a) providing a dispersion of fluorinated graphite; (b) subjecting the dispersion of fluorinated graphite to sonication, mechanical treatment and/or thermal treatment; (c) preparing a metal polysulfide, starting from a metal sulfide and sulfur; (d) contacting the product from the step (b) with the product of the step (c) at 10-110 degrees C; and (e) separating the solid product formed in the step (d) from the solution. USE - The method is useful for preparing sulfur-functionalized graphene which is used: as a cathode material in lithium sulfur batteries; and in electrical cell (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method provides sulfur-functionalized graphene, which: has high sulfur loading and low residual fluorine content; allows to form electrodes for lithium-sulfur batteries with high specific capacity and high cycling stability; and possesses a high specific capacity, a very high retention of the capacity upon cycling at both low and high current rates. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) sulfur-functionalized graphene comprising graphene with covalently bound sulfur and having a sulfur loading of at least 60 wt.%, preferably at least 70 wt.%, where the sulfur loading is determined by thermogravimetric analysis by measuring the weight loss in the temperature of 200-350 degrees C; and (2) an electrical cell comprising at least two electrodes, a separator and an electrolyte, where one electrode contains the sulfur-functionalized graphene.
