NOVELTY - The preparation method of superhard graphene-boron carbide composite material involves mixing graphene oxide sheet and boron carbide powder with particle size of less than 3 mu m, ultrasonically processing to obtain graphene oxide/boron carbide mixture, stirring to make uniform mixture, drying the mixture at below 100 degrees C under atmospheric pressure to obtain mixed powder, adding mixed powder to a molding equipment, pre-pressing into blank, introducing blank into a high-temperature and high-pressure sintering equipment, sintering at 1300-1600 degrees C under greater than 3 GPa. USE - The method is useful preparing superhard graphene-boron carbide composite material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method ensures preparation of superhard graphene-boron carbide composite material with excellent hardness and fracture toughness. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The preparation method of superhard graphene-boron carbide composite material involves mixing graphene oxide sheet with diameter of greater than 1 mu m and less than 5 layers and boron carbide powder with particle size of less than 3 mu m, ultrasonically processing for 10-30 minutes to obtain graphene oxide/boron carbide mixture, stirring for more than 2 hours to make uniform mixture, drying the mixture at below 100 degrees C under atmospheric pressure to obtain mixed powder, adding mixed powder to a molding equipment, pre-pressing into blank, introducing blank into a high-temperature and high-pressure sintering equipment, sintering at 1300-1600 degrees C under greater than 3 GPa for greater than 10 minutes. The graphene oxide sheet is added in an amount of 0.3-5 vol.%. The boron carbide powder is added is in an amount of 20-40 times of water.
