NOVELTY - Producing o-xylene comprises catalyzing 3-nitro-o-xylene by hydrogenation catalyst to generate 3-amino-o-xylene, hydrogenating into o-xylene and ammonia gas under the catalytic action of the hydrogen decomposing catalyst, absorbing the ammonia gas by the acid solution, and obtaining high-purity o-xylene, where the hydrogenation catalyst is cobalt/nickel doped palladium/ruthenium deposition aza-pleated graphene sheet, and the hydrogen decomposing catalyst is platinum/silver deposited carbon point-tungsten trioxide/zirconium dioxide. USE - The method is useful for producing o-xylene. ADVANTAGE - The method provides novel conversion technology of 3-nitro-ortho-xylene, under the action of a highly active catalyst, hydrogenation and dehydrogenation are used to convert 3-nitro-ortho-xylene into ortho-xylene, the conversion efficiency is high, the conversion conditions are mild, the obtained ortho-xylene has high purity, the production cost is low, is suitable for large-scale industrial production, and the economic benefit of 3-nitro-ortho-xylene is improved.
