▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Nanocomposite material has fully separated nano-scaled grapheme (NGP) platelets dispersed in a matrix material. The material can be polymer, carbon, glass, ceramic or metal matrix. Each of the platelets has a sheet of graphite plane or multiple sheets of graphite plane. Platelets have a thickness no greater than 100 nanometers and an average length, width, or diameter no greater than 500 nanometers. Platelets are present in an amount no less than 15 percent by weight based on the total weight of the platelets and the matrix material combined. USE - For a moisture barrier, fuel cell bipolar plate, a battery electrode, a motor vehicle friction plate, an aircraft brake pad, or rocket motor component which is exposed in high temperature environment. ADVANTAGE - The nano-graphene plate-reinforced composite material provides a cost effective substitute to carbon nanotubes or nano-rods for various scientific and engineering applications. It is available in large quantities and at a low cost. The composite that contains fully separated graphite platelets with a sufficient amount effective for achieving a high composite conductivity of greater than 10 S/cm and 100 S/cm and a high areal conductivity of greater than 200 S/cm2. The composite can be mass produced into desired products e.g. fuel cell bipolar plates using cost-effective processing techniques and without involving slow in situ polymerization or use of a chemical solvent. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a nanocomposite plate.
