NOVELTY - Production of reduced graphene oxide comprising a molten metal incorporated into the layers of reduced graphene oxide, involves (i) adding reduced graphene oxide in a solution comprising at least one alcohol, at least one nonionic surfactant and at least one sulfur-containing amino acid, and leaving still for a preset time period at a preset temperature, (ii) removing the solution from the obtained product and drying the obtained reduced graphene oxide, and contacting the molten metal with the dried reduced graphene oxide. USE - Production of reduced graphene oxide used for producing active material of electrode for rechargeable electrochemical energy storage cell (all claimed) e.g. rechargeable lithium battery. ADVANTAGE - The battery comprising the reduced graphene oxide obtained from the method has improved energy density, efficiency, and discharge and charging rates.
