NOVELTY - Preparation of melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene composite material involves adding a reducing agent to the solution of melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene oxide to chemically reduce the graphene oxide, ultrasonically-dispersing or mechanically-mixing and obtaining a melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene solution, melt-processing solution by spray-drying, or heating directly or adding non-polar solvent such as toluene and alkane to melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene solution, precipitating, filtering and drying. USE - Preparation of melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene composite material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method efficiently and economically provides melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene composite material by simple process and by consuming reduced amount of energy. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene composite material involves adding deionized water to ultrasonic irradiation reactor, then adding 1-50 wt.% melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol, ultrasonically-dispersing and obtaining an aqueous solution of modified polyvinyl alcohol, adding 1-50 pts. wt. oxidized graphene prepared by Hummers method and 100 pts. wt. deionized water into an ultrasonic irradiation reactor, ultrasonically-dispersing with ultrasonic power of 3-10 kW, frequency of 10-16 MHz and obtaining a uniform dispersion liquid, dripping dispersion of graphene oxide into the aqueous solution of melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol, mechanically-stirring for 1 hour and obtaining modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene mixed solution, spray-drying and obtaining melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene powder, or directly-heating solution, after crushing, and obtaining a modified polyvinyl alcohol-oxidized graphene pellet, or adding a non-polar solvent such as toluene and alkane to modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene solution, precipitating, filtering, drying and obtaining melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene powder, adding a reducing agent to the solution of melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene oxide to chemically reduce the graphene oxide, ultrasonically-dispersing or mechanically-mixing and obtaining a melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene solution, melt-processing solution by spray-drying, or heating directly or adding non-polar solvent such as toluene and alkane to melt-processable modified polyvinyl alcohol-graphene solution, precipitating, filtering and drying.
