NOVELTY - Flame retardant expanded polyurethane foam obtained by mixing the polyol mixture and isocyanate at high speed and performing a urethane reaction, where the reactant proceeds continuously through a conveyor belt system. The polyol mixture includes powdery modified expanded graphite. In the modified expanded graphite, in the liquid solution of the polyol mixture, the graphene component on the surface reacts with hydroxyethyl maleimide to form hydroxyethyl maleimide graphite, as a result, the polyol mixture does not cause the existing solid-liquid separation phenomenon. The modified expanded graphite is dispersed in the polyol mixture to form a polyol mixture solution. USE - The flame retardant expanded polyurethane foam is useful as an interior material for buildings for preventing fire, refrigerators, refrigerated containers, cold insulation materials for LNG carriers, insulation materials for construction, and other decorations. ADVANTAGE - The flame retardant expanded polyurethane foam: contains polyol compound which allows a larger amount of the modified expanded graphite as a flame retardant, so that the finally obtained polyurethane foam can exhibit better flame retardancy compared to the flame retardant polyurethane foam obtained in the conventional manner; exhibit the flame retardancy by expanding layer materials inside the modified expanded graphite; absorbs the heat caused by the fire and proceeds to decompose into graphite and hydroxyethylimide and absorbs a large amount of ambient heat, resulting in a cooling effect; has good insulation, sound insulation and molding processability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for producing flame retardant polyurethane foam comprising mixing the polyol mixture and the isocyanate and proceeding with a urethane reaction.
