NOVELTY - Composition comprises a carrier medium, a first corrosion inhibitor having a passivation mechanism, and a second corrosion inhibitor having a barrier mechanism, where the second corrosion inhibitor comprises graphene nanoplates, graphene oxide nanoplates, reduced graphene oxide nanoplates, bilayer graphene nanoplates, bilayer graphene oxide nanoplates, bilayer reduced graphene oxide nanoplates, few-layer graphene nanoplates, few-layer graphene oxide nanoplates, few-layer reduced graphene oxide nanoplates, graphene or graphitic nanoplates of 6-14C layers or graphite flakes with nanoscales dimensions and 40C or less layers, 25-30C layers, 25-35C layers, 20-35C layers or 20- 40C layers. USE - The composition is used in a coating composition and for protecting corrosion in metallic substrates, such as aluminum, aluminum alloys and magnesium alloys. ADVANTAGE - The composition exhibits synergistic effect, reduces the weight of the coating, adopts environmentally-friendly anticorrosive material, prolongs service life of coating, protects metal surface or substrates, provides barrier to reduce the access of water and corrosion ions, such as chloride ion or hydrogen ion to the metallic substrates, has economical benefits and saves labor and material cost. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a coating composition comprising the composition; and (2) a method for manufacturing the composition involving carrying out a grind stage and a let down stage, adding graphene and adding and stirring additive after the let down stage.
