NOVELTY - Sulfonated graphene metal salt comprises sulfonated graphene and metal compounds bound to the surface of the sulfonated graphene through ionic bonding, the sulfonated graphene radial dimension is 0.05 -100 mu m and thickness is 0.5-20 nm, where content of sulfonic acid group carbon-sulfur is 12:1-3:1 molar ratio and the sulfonated graphene sulfonate and the metal compound metal element molar ratio is 1:1-5:1. USE - Used as sulfonated graphene metal salt. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, has mild reaction conditions and suitable for industrial production. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) preparing sulfonated graphene metal salt, comprising (i) dispersing sulfonated graphene uniformly in solvent, forming 0.1500-500 g/l sulfonated graphene solution, (ii) adding metal compound to the sulfonated graphene solution under inert atmosphere, stirring at room temperature, reacting for 1-6 hours to obtain sulfonated graphene metal salt solution and (iii) drying the sulfonated graphene metal solution to obtain sulfonated graphene metal salt; (2) electrode material, comprising sulfonated graphene metal salt and capacity of electrode material is 173-282 mAh/g; and (3) electrochemical and/or physical energy storage device, comprising sulfonated graphene metal salt, the electrochemical and/or physical energy storage device comprises capacitors or batteries, the capacitor comprises electrolytic capacitor, super capacitor or hybrid supercapacitor, the battery comprises lithium ion battery, sodium ion battery, potassium ion battery, magnesium ion batteries, calcium ion battery or aluminum ion batteries.
