▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Method of preparing a three-dimensional syntactic foam object, involves (a) providing a curable composition comprising a thermosetting resin, a curing agent, hollow spheres, a solvent, and a non-hollow filler, (b) depositing a first layer of the curable composition, (c) depositing one or more additional layers of the curable composition on the first layer sequentially, and forming a three-dimensional curable object, and (d) curing the three-dimensional curable object, and providing the three-dimensional syntactic foam object. USE - The method is used for preparing a three-dimensional syntactic foam object. The ink composition is used for direct-write additive manufacture of a syntactic foam object. The method is used for preparing an ink composition for additive manufacturing of a three-dimensional syntactic foam object (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The object has low density syntactic foams, provides facile and reproducible printing, provides precise control of an object's shape and/or provides syntactic foam objects with reduced density and high strength. The method stores the ink that can be reconstituted by addition of a solvent (e.g., acetone) and centrifugal mixing. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: a three-dimensional syntactic foam object prepared by the above method; an ink composition for direct-write additive manufacture of a syntactic foam object, comprising (A1) 5-25 wt.% thermoset resin, (B1) 0.1-6 wt.% curing agent, (C1) 20-40 wt.% hollow spheres, (D1) 30-55 wt.% solvent, and (E1) 0.1-25 wt.% non-hollow filler; and a method of preparing an ink composition for additive manufacturing of a three-dimensional syntactic foam object, comprising (a) adding a thermoset resin and a curing agent to a solvent or solvent mixture, and providing a first mixture and mixing the first mixture until any solids are dissolved, (b) adding hollow spheres to the first mixture, and providing a second mixture, and mixing the second mixture, and (c) adding at least one non-hollow filler to the second mixture, providing a third mixture and mixing the third mixture, and preparing the ink composition.
