NOVELTY - Graphene and beta-cyclodextrin composition comprises graphene nanosheets and a beta-cyclodextrin. The beta-cycodextrin is present on the surface of the graphene nanosheets. USE - Graphene and beta-cyclodextrin composition for protecting corrosion of a metal substrate, where metal substrate is selected from steel, aluminum alloy, copper alloys, bronze, brass, magnesium alloy, titanium alloy, superalloy, nickel alloy, lithium alloy, titanium, aluminum, magnesium, copper, and nickel, and metal substrate is portion of pipeline, bridge, exposed metal portion of building, windmill, drilling shaft lining, heavy ground machine, excavator, tractor, tank, truck, barge, tanker, LNG docking port, LNG ship, ocean oil and gas platform, trawler, refrigerator ship, cargo ship, ice breaker, submarine, boat, cutter, and hydroplane (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphene and beta-cyclodextrin composition protects corrosion of metal surface exposed to high saline concentration, and improves corrosion resistance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for protecting corrosion of a metal substrate, which involves providing a coating composition comprising the graphene and beta-cyclodextrin composition and a binder on a metal surface.
