NOVELTY - A magnetic material comprises a graphene nanodot or a graphene nanoribbon containing a two dimensional bipartite lattice of carbon atoms including a first sublattice of carbon atoms having a first spin state and a second sublattice of carbon atoms having a second spin state, where the nanoribbon is elongated along a major dimension and extends between a first edge and a second edge along a minor dimension transverse the major dimension. USE - For information storage media in the rack-mounted computer, desktop computer, laptop computer, tablet computer, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), and smart phone. ADVANTAGE - The magnetic material provides high density of states at the Fermi level rendering spin-polarization instability; and allows long-range magnetic order well above room temperature.
