NOVELTY - Preparing oxidation resistant durable ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) composite material comprises completely drying medical grade UHMWPE powder as substrate material, ball milling with monolayer graphene oxide, mixing, taking into a mold, pre-pressing in a flat vulcanizing machine, die processing to obtain composite material plate, cooling, sealing under vacuum, irradiation with gamma -ray for crosslinking process, soaking in a leaching solution of vitamin E, placing in a vacuum drying box, and cooling. USE - The method is useful for preparing oxidation resistant durable high molecular weight polyethylene composite material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite material: has excellent wear resistant performance; has two dimensional structure with high mechanical properties and biocompatibility of graphene oxide; reduces abrasive dust amount; reduces adverse reaction caused by wearing; and has high antioxidant and anti-aging performances due to vitamin E. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing oxidation resistant durable ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) composite material comprises (a) taking medical grade ultra-high molecule weight polyethylene powder as substrate material and completely drying, (b) ball milling with monolayer graphene oxide, mixing and forming uniformly mixed powder, (c) taking the mixed powder into a mold, pre-pressing in a flat vulcanizing machine at 180 degrees C, die processing in flat vulcanizing machine to obtain composite material plate and cooling to room temperature, (d) sealing composite material plate under vacuum at room temperature, irradiation with gamma -ray for crosslinking process and (e) soaking the ultra-high molecule weight polyethylene composite material in a leaching solution of vitamin E, placing in a vacuum drying box, taking out and cooling to room temperature.
