NOVELTY - A salicylic acid functionalized graphene modified glassy carbon electrode preparation method involves preparing salicylic acid functionalized graphene by preparing graphene oxide by Hummer method, and adding 5-amino salicylic acid with obtained graphene oxide under alkaline condition. The obtained salicylic acid functionalized graphene is ultrasonically dispersed in a 0.1-1 mg/l dispersing liquid. 3-15 mu l obtained solution is coated on a mirror surface of a glassy carbon electrode. The electrode is dried at room temperature to obtain a finished product. USE - Method for preparing a salicylic acid functionalized graphene modified glassy carbon electrode that is utilized for detecting trace amount of cadmium ions. ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparing salicylic acid functionalized graphene modified glassy carbon electrode that detects trace amount of cadmium ions in a sensitive manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for detecting trace amount of cadmium ions by utilizing salicylic acid functionalized graphene modified glassy carbon electrode, which involves utilizing differential pulse stripping voltammetry, utilizing salicylic acid functionalized graphene modified glassy carbon electrode as a working electrode, utilizing saturated calomel electrode as a reference electrode, utilizing molybdenum electrode as an auxiliary electrode and utilizing phosphate buffer solution as a test substrate solution for detecting cadmium ions in an aqueous solution.
