▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - The lithium-ion battery has an anode, a cathode, a lithium-ion permeable and electrically insulating separator that electrically separates the anode from the cathode. The anode comprises: (i) particles of an anode active material consisting of silicon, germanium, phosphorus, tin, lead, antimony, bismuth, zinc, aluminum, titanium, nickel, cobalt, cadmium, and/or its alloy with lithium or oxides; (ii) 0.1015 wt.% an ion-conducting protective polymer, which is in physical contact with particles of the anode active material to protect the particles, where the polymer has a lithium-ion conductivity no less than 10-6S/cm; (iii) 0-10 wt.% a conductive additive; (iv) 0-10 wt.% a binder resin; and (v) 5-80 vol.% pores in the anode. USE - Lithium-ion batteries are useful in electric vehicle, renewable energy storage, and electronic device applications. ADVANTAGE - The lithium-ion battery does not exhibit a rapid capacity decay issue caused by the large volume changes of the high-capacity anode active materials, has a high rate capability and stability, is capable of delivering a high energy even at a relatively high charge/discharge rate, and is compatible with existing battery production processes and equipment. An innovative, versatile, and surprisingly effective platform materials technology that enables the design and manufacture of superior and safe lithium-ion batteries. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a process for producing the lithium-ion battery, which involves (a) preparing the anode, (b) preparing a cathode, (c) preparing a lithium-ion permeable and electrically insulating separator, and (d) combining the anode, the separator, and the cathode.
