NOVELTY - Cathode active material comprises silicon oxide particles, where the bulk phase of the silicon oxide particles comprises conductive components. USE - The cathode active material is useful in secondary battery of an electric device (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method improves bulk phase conductivity by distributing conductive components in the silicon oxide bulk phase, improves lithium intercalation and delithiation capabilities of materials which helps to achieve higher first-time Coulombic efficiency and better fast charging performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparation method of cathode active material using hydrocarbon gas comprising at least one of methane, acetylene, and ethylene.
